Erasmus Trio in excellent form in Hoofddorp
Brilliant Conclusion of Music Festival
Almere (NL), Mon, 19. Mar 2007On March 11 2007 the Erasmus Trio gave a brilliant performance of Mendelssohn's Pianotrio No 1 and other.

On Sunday 11 March 2007, the Erasmus Trio played the final concert of the International Chamber Music Festival Haarlemmermeer at the Theatre De Meerse in Hoofddorp (North Holland).
The concert was the conclusion of a very successful festival week, the concerts of 6, 8, 9 and 10 March having been completely sold out. "A very good start for such a young festival, and an incentive to further activities," as initiator and artistic director Thomas Herrmann said.

A prolonged applause was proof that the final concert of 11 March was valued highly by the audience. The passionate way of playing of which the Trio is well reputed was present at the outset in Hayd's Pianotrio no 25 - a bit too much, perhaps, since the first two parts of the Trio could have done with a slightly more Viennese elegance. But in the 'Rondo alla zingarese' passion rightly got full swing, like also in Beethoven's Pianotrio Op. 11 'Gassenhauer', which in the composer's own time was considered as 'daring'.
The highlight of the evening no doubt was Mendelssohn's Pianotrio No 1 in D minor with its compelling melodies that were full-bloodedly performed and ravished the senses of the audience.
'I enjoyed it immensely" Maria van Arkel.
"Marvellous, a top-class performance" Jan Gras, manager of Theatre De Meerse.
