Concert in Ens (Schokland) again a major success
'Paragon of Ensemble Playing'
Almere (NL), Thu, 11. Mar 2010On 28 February 2010 the Erasmus Trio played at the Museumkerk in Ens. A favourable review.

Like in the foregoing years it was a full evening at the Museumkerk of Schokland when the Erasmus Trio did a concert there on February 28, 2010. And as was to be expected, the audience was treated to a splendid performance.
According to Wouter Ruifrok in his review in De Noordoostpolder of March 2, the Trio really is a paragon of ensemble playing and commitment. "In the Three Nocturnes by the Swissborn composer Ernest Bloch each piece got just the right atmosphere," he writes. "In the first part of Beethoven's Pianotrio in C minor, marked Allegro con brio, pianist Thomas Herrmann managed to maintain utter transparancy, while the second part was of a beautiful simplicity, with full attention to the melodic line. In Joseph Raff's Cavatina, a long-drawn-out intermezzo, cellist Xiaojia Xu and violist Vera Laporeva excelled in melodiousness. The Trio by Richard Strauss, a seldomly performed early work, was played with much cheerfulness and discipline, pianist Herrmann again excelling in transparent and well-structured playing."

The audience no doubt will eagerly look forward to next year, when the Erasmus Trio will be back at the Museumkerk on Sunday March 13, 2011. In that year, the Trio will celebrate their 20th anniversary and the concert in Ens forms part of a jubilee tour that will be organized on that occasion.
