Peter Beijersbergen van Henegouwen studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague with Gerard Hengeveld.
He performs regularly in the Netherlands and in Europe as a soloist and accompanist of instrumentalists as well as vocalists. He greatly enjoys exploring lesser known repertoire of great composers as well as the obscure.
He forms a duo with Dutch cellist Wouter Mijnders. They recorded in collaboration with violinist Ronald Hoogeveen chamber music by the Dutch composer Willem Pijper (Donemus CVCD15) and the complete works for cello en piano by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, using an authentic Erard concert grandpiano dating from 1866 (Partridge 1137-2).
As a pedagogue he has created many succesful school programns with the goal of strimulating the appreciation of classical music in young children.
Peter Beijersbergen van Henegouwen teaches at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and is also affilated with the "Koorenhuis" arts centre of The Hauge.
He forms a duo with double bassist Quirijn van Regteren Altena with whom he made a CD called "Characters" containing 20th-century music for double bass and piano (Olympia CD 467).
